What is Low-E glass?

Today, there are two technologies of manufacturing glass with low-E coating.

The first coating is produced at the manufacturing stage glass by depositing the necessary materials to the hot (about 600 degrees Celsius) glass. The coating obtained in this manner is a mechanically and chemically stable and does not require any special conditions during handling and storage. For this reason, the coating is called the « tough ». Another name – « K-glass ».

Another technique provides a low emissivity coating, applying several layers of metal oxides and metal nitrides. The resulting glass for this technology requires care in handling and has a limited shelf life, but its insulating properties significantly higher glass « tough » coating. This coating is called the « soft ». Another name « And Glass ».

Of the total number of low-emission glass produced at a fraction glass « tough » coverage is 35%, and « soft » covering 65%.

The uniqueness of soft glass – transparency for the light range (covering virtually invisible) and highly reflective in the range of heat waves.
This glass « runs » all year round. In the cold period of time it retains heat in the room and in the summer limits the heat input from the outside, thus reducing the cost of air conditioning.

Specifications of low-E glass with a soft coating:

& bull; Light transmission,% - from 8 to 40
& bull; The reflection in the visible region,% - from 7 to 27,5
& bull; Thickness: 3.0; 4.0; 50; 6,0.
& bull; Maximum dimensions: max 3210 x 2250; min 1000x305.
& bull; The emission factor covering SE-V < = 0,15, covering SLE > = 0,1
