Caring for ceramic tiles

Caring for ceramic tiles The durability of the tiled surface depends largely on how it operates and how to take care of it. For normal cleaning ceramic tiles need to use appropriate detergents. Avoid strong and aggressive deteragentov acid-based - they destroy not only ceramic tiles, as they can damage the joints, embedded materials based on cement.

Keep in mind that the excellent resistance to chemical attack have only seams, embedded epoxy materials (sealants). When cleaning ceramic surfaces should also limit the use of abrasives (eg, metal brushes), especially if the tiles have a glossy surface, which catch the eye chips, scratches, etc. It is best to use a vacuum cleaner, a brush with natural bristles or a soft clean cloth.

Some types of dirt (sand, dust, powder) greatly accelerate the abrasion of the floor tiles. Therefore, you should try to keep the floor clean and allow the presence of these substances: they are brought from the street, makes it possible to be in front than to lay carpet. Ceramic floors are not impact-resistant, so they should be protected from knocks by heavy objects. Glazed ceramic tiles can be effectively washed soapy water, avoiding the use of powders and pastes. To protect unglazed ceramic tiles (ceramic granite, clinker), use a special fluid that protects from the appearance of spots on the surface and in the joints. Increased attention should be paid to products with a notch, polished and non-slip.

Bright, solid colors, especially in the polished version, in spite of their excellent cleanability hygienic point of view, are not very resistant to certain types of stains, so you need to remember that they need more care. There exists the general criteria and rules for the care of unglazed ceramic tiles, depending on the type of contamination (stains) that are listed in Table 1. However, the manufacturers recommend always try first detergent in a small inconspicuous part, before using it on the whole surface.
